Blanco Driveway & Pavers: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
If your Blanco paver driveway has shifted, cracked, or started holding water in low spots, we can usually match the replacement pavers and have them installed for somewhere between $3,500 and $18,000 depending on the square footage, the paver line, and what’s going on underneath. Most Fort Lauderdale homeowners call us after a summer storm exposes a soft spot, or after a delivery truck leaves a rut in the middle of the drive that won’t drain. The Blanco name shows up most often on high-end concrete pavers and driveway systems, and while the pavers themselves are well made, the failures we see are almost always in the base layer or the edge restraints, not the stone itself.

We’re an independent remodeling and installation contractor in Fort Lauderdale. We are not affiliated with Blanco, but we work with their paver lines regularly and keep common replacement stock on hand. If you know the paver name and size, we can usually quote it over the phone before we ever set foot on your driveway.
Which Blanco Models This Applies To

Blanco’s driveway and paver catalog spans three main series: the Blanco Stone collection (modular concrete pavers in three thicknesses), the Blanco Grande format line (larger slab-style pavers, typically 24″ x 24″ or 24″ x 36″), and the Blanco Permeable series, which is increasingly popular in Fort Lauderdale because it helps with stormwater runoff on lots that sit below street grade. The compatibility gotcha most homeowners miss is paver thickness. Driveway pavers need to be 60mm or 80mm thick to carry vehicle weight. Patio pavers are often 40mm, and if someone installed a 40mm paver on a driveway in a previous remodel, that’s exactly why you’re seeing cracks.
To identify your Blanco paver, flip one over or check the side of the pallet if you kept it. Blanco stamps the paver name and the manufacturing plant code on the underside of most lines. If the stamp has worn off, measure the paver in millimeters, not inches. A 60mm paver reads just under 2 3/8″ thick. OEM Blanco replacement pavers are worth matching when the driveway is less than five years old because the color lot will be close. After five years of Fort Lauderdale sun, the existing pavers have faded enough that a new OEM paver will stand out against them, and a high-quality aftermarket equivalent from Belgard or Unilock in a close color match is often the more honest fix.

Signs Your Blanco Driveway & Pavers Is Failing
- Low spots that hold water after rain. This is the most common call we get in Fort Lauderdale. It almost always means the base layer under the pavers has settled or washed out. The pavers themselves are usually fine.
- Edge pavers spreading or tipping outward. The edge restraint, usually a plastic or aluminum strip, has snapped or pulled away. Without it, the whole field of pavers slowly migrates toward the weakest side.
- Visible cracking in the paver surface. If the crack runs in a straight line across several pavers, that’s a base failure. If it’s spalling, where the top surface flakes off in chunks, that’s usually salt exposure or a paver that was never sealed.
- Sand washing out between joints every storm. Polymeric sand in South Florida humidity fails faster than in dry climates. If you can see bare gaps between pavers, water is getting under them and accelerating the settling.
- One or two pavers sitting proud of the field. Typically a tree root, a broken paver that was replaced without re-compacting the base, or a failed paver that’s cracked and risen at one corner.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

Paver driveway installation in Fort Lauderdale runs $7,000 to $18,000 for a full driveway, depending on paver line, square footage, and how much of the old base needs to be removed and rebuilt. A partial repair, which is what most Blanco owners actually need, usually falls between $3,500 and $8,000 when we’re pulling up a section, re-grading the base, and re-setting the existing pavers plus any replacements. If you’re only sealing an existing paver driveway, that’s $250 to $700 and it’s the cheapest maintenance you can do to extend the life of the surface.
Every quote includes the pavers, the base material, haul-off of the old material, compaction, edge restraint, and cleanup. We give you a written price before work starts, and that number is the number on the invoice unless you change the scope. That’s the way Trevor Nash runs Penhallow Remodeling Fort Lauderdale, and it’s the way it’s been done under the Kingswell standard since 2004.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things yourself: look for broken edge restraints, measure the low spots with a level and a 2×4, and note whether the sand between joints is still filling the gaps. That’s diagnosis. It helps us quote faster. Where DIY goes sideways is pulling pavers without a plan for the base underneath. The paver is not the problem most of the time. The problem is the compacted base and the drainage angle, and if you replace a cracked paver without fixing what cracked it, you’ll be looking at the same crack again in a year. There’s no dangerous high-tension component here, but lifting 80mm pavers all afternoon in a Fort Lauderdale summer is its own kind of hazard. If the repair involves more than a 4-by-4-foot area or any excavating, call us at (754) 551-2922. We’ll tell you what it costs and whether it’s a weekend project or a crew-sized job.
FAQs

A properly installed Blanco paver driveway lasts 25 to 30 years in South Florida, but that assumes the base was compacted correctly and the joint sand is refreshed every three to five years. We see premature failures at the 8-to-12-year mark when the base was shortchanged or the edge restraint failed. Call (754) 551-2922 and we’ll tell you whether your driveway is at end of life or just needs base repair.
Yes, most Blanco driveway problems are repairable without a full replacement. We pull the affected section, re-compact or replace the base, re-set the pavers, and restore the joints. A full replacement only makes sense when the base has failed across more than half the driveway or the pavers are so faded and chipped that new ones won’t match. We’ll give you the written quote for both options and let you decide.
A section repair on a Blanco driveway typically takes one to two days, including compaction and setting time. A full paver driveway replacement in Fort Lauderdale usually runs three to five start-to-finish days. We’ll give you a defined arrival window before we start, not a “we’ll get there when we get there” answer.
We keep a limited stock of the most common Blanco Stone and Blanco Grande pavers on hand for repairs, and we order special colors and the Blanco Permeable line from local Fort Lauderdale supply yards, usually within 48 to 72 hours. If you can send us a photo of the paver and its measurements, we’ll confirm availability before we schedule.
If your Blanco driveway is showing any of the signs above, or you just want a straight answer about whether that low spot is normal settling, call (754) 551-2922. Tell me what you need, I’ll tell you what it costs, then we’ll get it done. Trevor Nash and the Penhallow Remodeling Fort Lauderdale team also work with KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone on full home and kitchen projects if the driveway is only part of what you’re planning. Estimates are free and the price you get in writing is the price you’ll pay.
