Atlas Fence Installation: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
We install Atlas fence systems in Fort Lauderdale, including full replacement of failed sections, posts, gates, and hardware. A complete Atlas fence installation on a typical suburban lot runs $3,500 – $9,000 depending on linear footage, post replacement, and gate hardware. Most owners discover the problem the same way: a post leaning after a summer storm, a gate that drags across the pavers, or a section that’s started to pull away from the corner post because the original installer buried fasteners that were never rated for salt air.

Which Atlas Models This Applies To

Atlas manufactures several fence lines, and the parts are not all interchangeable. The Atlas Deluxe Series uses a heavier-gauge aluminum wall (typically 0.062″ versus 0.050″ on the Standard line) and takes a different post cap profile. The Standard Series is the most common we see in Fort Lauderdale neighborhoods like Victoria Park and Coral Ridge, where original builds from the early 2000s are now hitting the end of their post life. To match your part correctly, look for a small embossed stamp on the inside face of the top rail or on the gate hinge plate. If the stamp is gone, measure the wall thickness of the picket with calipers. Atlas also produced a short-run Coastal Series with a thicker powder coat, and if you have that, the color match is proprietary. Penhallow Remodeling Fort Lauderdale is an independent service provider, not affiliated with Atlas.
OEM vs Aftermarket: What We Actually Recommend
For pickets and rails, OEM Atlas parts are worth the upcharge when color match matters. Powder coat fade is real in Fort Lauderdale UV, and a mismatched aftermarket picket is visible from the street for years. For internal hardware (brackets, post mounts, tension rods), we use commercial-grade equivalents from Tamlyn and Simpson Strong-Tie that cost less than OEM and hold better in sandy soil. Post caps are the exception: buy OEM, because aftermarket caps frequently sit loose and rattle in wind.

Signs Your Atlas Fence Installation Is Failing
- Posts leaning 10+ degrees after storms. The post footing was either too shallow for Florida’s sandy soil or the post was set directly in concrete without a gravel base, trapping water at the base and rotting the aluminum’s internal steel anchor. We see this constantly in Rio Vista, where original fences from 2005 – 2010 are now coming due.
- Gate dragging or sagging at the latch side. The hinge side post has shifted out of plumb, or the gate frame’s corner brackets have worked loose. Atlas gates on the Deluxe Series have an adjustable tension rod; if it’s maxed out and still sagging, the frame is done.
- Rails separating from the post bracket. This is usually failed self-tapping screws that were over-torqued at the original install. In salt air, the screw heads corrode from the inside out and snap when the fence flexes.
- Pickets rattling or popping loose at the bottom rail. The bottom rail channel collects storm debris and holds moisture. Once the powder coat is nicked, the exposed aluminum starts to pit in under three years this close to the Atlantic.
- White chalky residue at any joint. That’s galvanic corrosion where a steel fastener meets aluminum without a nylon washer. The electrolysis is eating the aluminum. Ignored, the next strong wind takes the panel down.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
Atlas fence installation in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $3,500 – $9,000 for a full perimeter replacement. The range comes down to three things: linear footage, how many posts need new concrete footings, and whether the gate hardware gets replaced or reconditioned.
- Partial section replacement (under 40 linear feet): $1,800 – $3,500
- Full perimeter, standard suburban lot: $3,500 – $7,000
- Full perimeter with custom gates or Coastal Series materials: $7,000 – $9,000
Every quote includes a written line-item price before work starts, removal and disposal of the old sections, new concrete footings where posts are replaced, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If a replacement post shifts or a gate sags inside that year, we come back and fix it at no charge. Call (754) 551-2922 for a number that matches what’s actually in your yard.

DIY or Call Us?
You can check a few things safely: look for the embossed Atlas stamp to identify your series, note which direction the posts lean, and check whether gate hardware is tight. That helps us quote accurately over the phone. What we don’t recommend is digging out and resetting a failed post yourself. Digging near the property’s buried utility lines without a locate ticket is a genuinely dangerous way to spend a Saturday, and a post set wrong in Fort Lauderdale’s sandy, high-water-table soil will lean again within a season. If the gate is heavy and the hinge post has shifted, that’s a two-person job with proper bracing so the panel doesn’t come down while you work. Trevor Nash and our team show up with a written scope and a realistic number. Tell me what you need, I’ll tell you what it costs – then we’ll get it done.
FAQs

An Atlas aluminum fence in Fort Lauderdale’s salt air typically lasts 15 – 20 years for the powder-coated pickets, but the post footings and internal steel anchors are the weak point and often fail at the 10 – 12 year mark. Call (754) 551-2922 and we can tell you whether your fence needs posts or a full swap.
Sometimes yes: if the post is still plumb at the base and the concrete footing is sound, we can reset the anchor and brace it. If the post is visibly corroded at the soil line, no repair holds. We’ll tell you which one you have after a look, and the estimate is free.
Most Fort Lauderdale fence replacements we install take two to three working days from removal to final gate adjustment, weather permitting. Concrete needs a day to set before we hang the panels. Call (754) 551-2922 for a timeline based on your lot.
We keep common Atlas Standard and Deluxe Series components on the truck, including post caps, rail brackets, gate hinges, and latch hardware for the models we install most in Fort Lauderdale. For Coastal Series color-matched panels, we order direct with a 5 – 7 day lead time. Ask us what’s in stock when you call.
We also carry parts for KraftMaid cabinetry, Cambria and Silestone countertops, and Moen and Kohler plumbing fixtures, so if your fence failure is part of a bigger exterior project, we can look at the whole picture. We’re a general contractor, not a fencing specialty shop, which means we’re just as comfortable pulling a permit for the fence as we are rebuilding the patio that sits behind it.
