Boxabl Kitchen Remodeling: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
Boxabl kitchen remodeling in Fort Lauderdale typically runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed, depending on cabinet line, countertop material, and whether you’re replacing the original configuration or reworking the galley layout. Most owners call us after the original factory cabinetry starts delaminating at the seams or the laminate countertop edges swell from Florida humidity. We stock Boxabl-compatible cabinet hardware, mounting systems, and countertop templates in our Fort Lauderdale shop, so we can usually start within a week of your written estimate.

A Boxabl kitchen isn’t a standard modular setup. The factory builds the kitchen as a single integrated unit: cabinets, countertops, sink, and appliance housing all fastened to the wall panels and floor channel as one assembly. When one part fails, the whole section usually needs to be addressed together, not piecemeal. That’s the reality most Boxabl owners learn the first time a cabinet door hinge tears out of the particleboard frame or the countertop seam separates above the dishwasher. Trevor Nash has rebuilt enough of these kitchens across Fort Lauderdale to know exactly where the factory weak points are and how to fix them without disturbing the structural wall panels behind the cabinets.
Which Boxabl Models This Applies To

The kitchen systems we work on come in two factory configurations: the standard Casita line and the newer Casita Pro series. Standard Casita units use a compact galley kitchen with 24-inch base cabinets, a single-bowl stainless sink, and laminate countertops with a rolled front edge. The Pro series added deeper lower cabinets, a wider cooktop opening, and a quartz-compatible countertop substrate, but the mounting channel along the wall panel is identical on both.
To confirm which you have, open the cabinet under the sink and look for the factory label on the inside of the left stile. It’ll show a four-digit production code and the cabinet series number. If the label is gone, measure the base cabinet depth: 24 inches means standard Casita, 27 inches means Pro. This matters because the cabinet mounting brackets are not interchangeable between the two, and ordering the wrong bracket set adds a week and a return shipping fee to the job.
Penhallow Remodeling Fort Lauderdale is an independent remodeling contractor. We’re not affiliated with Boxabl, but we’ve installed and repaired their kitchen systems in Fort Lauderdale long enough to know which OEM parts are worth keeping and where a quality aftermarket replacement from KraftMaid or Wellborn actually outperforms the factory piece.

Signs Your Boxabl Kitchen Remodeling Is Failing
- Cabinet doors sagging or scraping at the corners. The factory hinges are screwed directly into particleboard with no reinforcement plate. After two or three years of Fort Lauderdale humidity cycling, the screw holes widen and the door drops. The fix is a hinge backing plate and longer screws, not just tightening what’s there.
- Countertop seam lifting near the sink or cooktop. The original laminate tops are joined with a seam directly over the dishwasher cavity, which is the worst spot for heat and moisture. Once the seam lifts, water gets into the substrate and the whole top starts swelling. We replace these with solid-surface or Cambria quartz, which eliminates the seam entirely.
- Drawer slides binding or pulling unevenly. Boxabl uses lightweight roller slides on the standard Casita. They bind when the cabinet frame flexes, which happens when the wall channel fasteners loosen from road vibration or settling. Tightening the channel is step one; replacing the slides is step two.
- Sink flange pulling away from the countertop. The factory sealant around the sink lip breaks down in Florida’s heat, and once water seeps under the flange, the particleboard core wicks it like a sponge. You’ll see dark staining at the sink edge first, then soft spots.
- Cabinet boxes pulling away from the wall. This is the one to take seriously. The wall channel fasteners can work loose over time, and a partially detached cabinet puts stress on the plumbing connections behind it. Don’t load heavy pans into an upper cabinet that’s drifted off the wall.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

In Fort Lauderdale, a full Boxabl kitchen remodel runs $14,000 to $45,000 installed. The range is driven by three things: cabinet line (stock KraftMaid lowers the number, custom Wellborn raises it), countertop material (laminate at the bottom, Cambria quartz at the top), and whether we’re keeping the existing layout or moving plumbing and electrical. A like-for-like refresh with new cabinets and a solid-surface top on the existing channel usually lands between $14,000 and $22,000. Reworking the galley into an L-shape with an island pushes toward $32,000 to $45,000.
Every estimate we write in Fort Lauderdale includes the parts, labor, demolition of the old kitchen assembly, protection of the wall panels, disposal, and a written guarantee. That last part matters: we put a 365-Day Done Right Promise on every Boxabl kitchen we touch. If a cabinet door sags, a seam opens, or a drawer binds inside that year, we come back and fix it at no charge. You’ll get that in writing before the first cabinet comes off the wall, and the number on that paper is the number you’ll pay. No change orders because we discovered something we should have caught in the walkthrough.
DIY or Call Us?
Some Boxabl kitchen issues are safe to address yourself: tightening a loose hinge with a longer screw into solid wood backing, adjusting a drawer slide, re-caulking the sink flange. Those are reasonable weekend fixes. But removing a Boxabl cabinet run or countertop is not a casual DIY job. The cabinets are fastened through the wall channel into the structural panel, and pulling them without releasing the channel properly can crack the panel skin or damage the vapor barrier behind it. Countertop removal near the cooktop also means disconnecting a gas or 240V appliance, and that’s where a wrong step becomes a serious safety issue.
If you’re in Fort Lauderdale and you’re not sure whether your problem is a hinge or a failing channel, call us at (754) 551-2922. Trevor will tell you what he’d do if it were his kitchen, and if it’s a simple fix, he’ll tell you how to do it yourself. If it needs a pro, you’ll get a written number before anything gets taken apart. Tell me what you need, I’ll tell you what it costs – then we’ll get it done.
FAQs

The factory cabinet boxes and laminate countertops typically last 5 to 8 years in Fort Lauderdale before humidity-related delamination or seam failure shows up. Upgraded cabinets with plywood boxes and quartz or solid-surface tops extend that to 20 years or more with normal use. Call (754) 551-2922 and we’ll walk through what’s worth replacing versus what still has life in it.
Yes, in many cases. Hinge plate backing, drawer slide replacement, and channel re-tightening are all repairs we do regularly without pulling the whole kitchen. If the cabinet boxes themselves are swollen or the wall channel is compromised, replacement is the honest answer. We’ll give you a straight read on which side your kitchen falls on, with a written price either way.
Most Fort Lauderdale Boxabl kitchen replacements take 2 to 4 weeks from first cabinet pull to final walkthrough. The compact footprint helps: there’s less square footage to demo and rebuild than a conventional kitchen, but the wall channel work and panel protection add care time that a standard renovation doesn’t require.
We keep Boxabl-style cabinet mounting brackets, hinge backing plates, and drawer slides in our shop, along with Silestone and Cambria countertop samples you can look at before you decide. For full cabinet runs, we order from KraftMaid and Wellborn with a 2-to-3 week lead time. Call us at (754) 551-2922 and we’ll confirm what’s on the shelf today.
