ECO Window Systems Windows & Doors: The Fort Lauderdale Owner’s Guide
If you’ve got an ECO Window Systems window or door that’s binding, leaking, or fogged between the panes, we stock and install compatible replacement sashes, rollers, balances, weatherstripping, and full unit swaps for most ECO Window Systems models. Typical installed repair work in Fort Lauderdale runs $250 – $900 for hardware and glazing fixes, while full replacement windows land between $4,500 and $15,000 depending on how many openings and whether you’re upgrading to impact-rated glass. How most Fort Lauderdale owners find out something failed: a window that suddenly drops when you let go of it, condensation that won’t wipe away, or a door dragging across the track after a humid summer.

We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with ECO Window Systems. That means we can source OEM parts when they’re the right call, or move you to a quality aftermarket equivalent when it gets you back in service faster and for less money. Trevor Nash and our techs have pulled apart enough South Florida window systems to know which parts corrode first, which ones seize after one salt-air season, and which failures are genuinely worth repairing versus replacing.
Which ECO Window Systems Models This Applies To

ECO Window Systems manufactured a few distinct lines over the years, and the compatibility gotcha is this: the roller assembly for a single-hung is not interchangeable with the one on a horizontal slider, even when both windows are the same width. The track profile, the wheel diameter, and the mounting bracket all differ slightly between series. If you order the wrong roller set online and force it into the track, you’ll be back in the same spot in six months, plus now the track’s gouged.
The fastest way to identify what you’ve got: look at the lower corner of the sash. Most ECO Window Systems sashes carry a small etched or printed label with the unit’s series code and manufacturing date. That sticker tells us the glass package, the balance system, and whether your frame was extruded for a standard roller or the heavier coastal-rated version. When the label’s gone, we measure the sash channel exactly and match the glass pack thickness. On the OEM-versus-aftermarket call: ECO Window Systems OEM parts are right on spec but sometimes take two to three weeks to reach Fort Lauderdale. A quality aftermarket balance or roller from a known hardware manufacturer usually ships in days and carries the same or better load rating. We’ll show you both numbers and let you decide.

Signs Your ECO Window Systems Windows & Doors Is Failing
- The sash drops hard when you release it. That’s a spring balance failure. The balance system is calibrated to the sash weight, and once the coiled spring inside the balance cartridge lets go, the window becomes a guillotine waiting for a finger. This is the one to stop using immediately.
- The window sticks in the frame, worse in summer. PVC and aluminum expand in Fort Lauderdale heat. A window that opens fine in February and jams in August has a frame channel that’s out of spec or rollers that wore past their adjustment range.
- Fog or condensation between the panes. The sealed glass pack has failed. The desiccant inside the spacer is saturated. You can’t wipe it away because it’s inside the unit. The fix is a replacement insulated glass pack, not a cleaning.
- A sliding door that grinds instead of gliding. Salt air and fine South Florida grit eat roller bearings. You’ll hear it before you see it: a rasping sound and a door that takes real shoulder to move.
- Air or water moving around the frame edges. Weatherstripping loses its rebound after years of UV exposure. The strips flatten, then the air blows through, and after a big storm you find a damp spot along the sill. That’s when we check whether the frame itself is still square and sealed to the rough opening.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In Fort Lauderdale, count on the $250 – $900 range for most hardware-level ECO Window Systems repairs: balance replacement, roller swaps, new weatherstripping, a single replacement glass pack. When you’re looking at full window replacement, the installed number runs $4,500 – $15,000. What drives the spread is opening count, glass package, frame material, and whether you want impact-rated units. Impact glazing is the biggest cost mover: it’s not a small upgrade, but it’s also a real insurance and storm-readiness decision in this climate.
Every job gets a written price before we order a single part. That number covers the part, the labor, and the disposal of the failed component. We don’t hand you a range and then “discover” a problem once the sash is out. If the work needs a permit, we tell you that up front and it’s on the written scope. And if the repair fails inside a year, we come back and fix it at no charge. It’s in writing: the 365-Day Done Right Promise, with no service call fee on a return visit.

DIY or Call Us?
Honest split. You can safely diagnose the easy stuff: a sticky lock, obvious weatherstripping you can see, a track that’s full of sand. Clean the track, check for debris, take a look at whether the weatherstripping is visibly flat. That’s owner-level work.
What we don’t recommend you touch is any spring balance assembly. Those balances are under tension even when they’ve failed, and a pre-loaded spring cartridge releasing into your hand is not worth the $75 you’d save. The same goes for removing a glass pack: that’s tempered or laminated glass with enough weight and edge stiffness to do real damage if it slips. If the window’s heavier than you expect or the part looks like it needs a tool you’ve never held, call (754) 551-2922. Tell me what you need, I’ll tell you what it costs, then we’ll get it done.
FAQs

Plan on 15 to 20 years for the frame and glass with proper maintenance, but the moving hardware, meaning rollers and balances, typically needs attention every 7 to 10 years in South Florida’s salt air and humidity. Call (754) 551-2922 if yours are past that mark and we’ll assess what’s still serviceable.
Sometimes yes: a roller can often be swapped by itself without replacing the whole sash, and a worn balance cartridge is a sub-$100 part. The turning point is when the track or frame channel itself is damaged or warped, at which point replacing the part alone won’t hold. Call (754) 551-2922 and we’ll tell you straight which side of that line you’re on.
Most single-window hardware repairs take under two hours once we’re on site with the right part. If we’re ordering an OEM ECO Window Systems component, the lead time is the bigger variable, usually two to three weeks in Fort Lauderdale. We can usually show you aftermarket options that arrive faster if you’d rather not wait.
We carry common balances, rollers, and weatherstripping profiles on our trucks because we know the local failure patterns, but every job is confirmed with a written price before we start. If your part’s not on the truck, we tell you the ETA before you commit. Call (754) 551-2922 and we’ll check fitment and lead time on the same call.
